Virginia Mae Pittman

May 19, 1932 thru October 14, 2019, peacefully transitioned to her new life in heaven, surrounded by loving family under the light of a halo moon. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Katherine (Rudy) Bergman, dear friend, Jean Masquelier and beloved pet, Barney. She leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Paul. son, Mike (Patti) Pittman, daughter, Suzi (Gary) Hill. grandchildren, Christie (Rob) Mohr , Holly Pittman, great-grandchildren, Ryan Loring and Michaela Jaycox, also two special bonus sons Tom (Andrea) Curey ) and Tom (a.k.a. Bob) Cheyne , her "favorite" sister Betty (Rich) Willeke, several nieces and nephews, Steve (Lois) Pittman, Connie (Paul) Renton , Kenny (Anita) Willeke, Brian Pittman, Ron (Susan) Willeke, Janet (Paul) Shahrokhi , Marsha (David) Dykehouse , extended family Leroy and Amy Jaycox, Carl and Tiffany Loring, John and Maggie Gilson, Pat and Bob Tavalsky, Wayne and Connie Frey, and that's just to name a few. Virginia was known as the "cool mom" of the neighborhood, and would do anything for anybody. Most called her Ma Pittman. Virginia worked at Wayne County and Jackson public school systems for over 30 years. After retirement, she loved to spend time volunteering in the hospital rocking babies. Virginia loved children. She loved shopping, cooking, golf, sport fishing, (Florida) craft club, traveling and being a special part of her grandchildren and great-grand-children's lives. Virginia loved to entertain in her home which was lovingly built by her son in law Gary Hill. She also loved her furry friends and her grand-dogs. Virginia took great pride in pulling Michigan Center's class of 2020's homecoming float all four years. She also played an active role in her great grand children's lives by taking a part in their high school activities and events. Virginia, Mom, Nan, Nana, Aunt Ginny, Virg, Ginny and Ma Pittman will be missed so much for her sense of humor, wit, and her contagious smile that made everybody fall in love with her. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home Friday, October 18, 2019 at 3pm with Chaplain Bart Hall, Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice officiating. Her family will have a time of fellowship and sharing memories from 1 pm until service time. A luncheon will be held following the service.
