Alan Eugene Swank's Obituary
Age 62, of Jackson, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at Henry Ford Allegiance Critical Care Unit under the excellent care of the staff. They are appreciated for making Alan comfortable and happy this last week, especially Dr. Ashley, Dr. H and his favorite Registered Nurse, Lisa. He is survived by two sisters, Karen (John Dingee Jr.) Frizzell and Laura (Danny) Smith; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Deena Henry Blair, Bill Debozy, Cindy Garcia and Dave 'Big Daddy' Hosler and his beloved feline friend, Blackie. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Norma and Don Throop and his father Carl Swank. He worked 18 years at Kent Moore until they closed; then was a storekeeper for the State Department of Corrections Duane Waters Hospital for 15 years until retirement. He enjoyed golf, bowling and Tiger Baseball. He enjoyed Caribbean Cruises and one of his unfulfilled 'Bucket List' items was taking his sister Karen on one. A Memorial Gathering and Dinner will be held at the Michigan Center Eagles Bingo Hall on Saturday July 7, 2018 from 1 to 5 pm. Please use rear parking area. . Contributions in his memory may be made directly to Arthur-Day Funeral Home to help his loved one's defray his final expenses Please note change of date of services.
