Alberta Olive Smith's Obituary
Age 89, passed away January 27, 2016 at her home under the loving care of her family and Great Lakes Caring Hospice. She is survived by six children, Alberta (Bill) Stowe, Bert Smith, George (Theresa) Smith, Brenda (Ray) Horvath, Thomas (Ann) Smith and Catherine Stoll, two sisters, Helen (Bob) Manthei and Edith Shoemaker, foster sons, Hank, Don and Tom Draves, twenty four grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Birt B. Smith, daughter Suzanne J. Smith, grandchildren, Shelly Smith, TJ Stowe and Brogan Smith, three siblings and her parents, George and Olive (McCain) Brewster. She was a retired cook from the Jackson County Medical Care Facility with over 20 years service and was a loving mother, devoted to her large family. Services will be held at the funeral home Friday, January 29, 2016 at 11 am with Rev. Joseph Shoemaker officiating. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
