Allen "Rocky" Zimmerman's Obituary
Allen Rocky Zimmerman, a.k.a. Rocky, 74, of Jackson, MI, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. Rocky’s family and friends will gather Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Page Avenue Baptist Church. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Pastor Phil Draffen will officiate.
He was born on September 22, 1951, in Jackson, MI to Harold and Birdie (Bradley) Zimmerman. Rocky married the love of his life, Vonda Lee Mullins, on June 19, 1971, at the Page Avenue Baptist Church in Michigan Center, MI. He sadly lost her only weeks ago, after 54 years of marriage. He will be remembered as a man of many interests. Rocky attended Northwest High School and was a very talented sketch artist. He had a strong interest in planes, trains and automobiles. Rocky also enjoyed playing the banjo, guitar, organ and gospel music. Christmas was his favorite holiday. He was a member of the Page Avenue Baptist Church but above all he loved and cherished the time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rocky will be missed by his children, Adam (Lynda) Zimmerman, Shaynne (Christie) Zimmerman, Ashlee (Andrew) Smith and Bonnie Gardner; a sister, Diana (Delbert) Samons; his grandchildren, Alexis (Brandon), Kaley (Adrian), Kaleb, Kameron, Daniel (Krystal), Matthew and Heather (John); his great grandchildren, Gena, Roselynn, Scarlette, Jeremiah, Valeira, Andrew Jr., Adrian Jr., Ethan, Austin, Alyvia and William; his great, great grandchild, Cynthia; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Vonda; parents, Harold and Birdie; his son, Jason Zimmerman; siblings, Verlin Zimmerman, Joan Samons, Juanita Brownsberger and David Zimmerman.
