Allie Eugene Conaway, 90, passed away October 3, 2025. Allie’s family and friends will gather from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday October 7, 2025 at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel and 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday October 8, 2025 with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Robert C. Arthur will serve as celebrant. Interment will take place at Roseland Memorial Gardens.
Allie was born on Friday, May 17, 1935, in St. Marys, West Virginia to Hosie E. and Orsha Mary (Baker) Conaway. Allie married Joyce Ellen (Compton) Conaway on September 10, 1955. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Jackson after 30 years of service, then he and his wife owned and operated the Napoleon Café, Joyce’s Place, Al’s Place, and AJ’s Touch of Class restaurants in Brooklyn for many years. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was a fixture at his grandchildren’s athletic contests. In later years, Allie and Joyce enjoyed their winter home in Florida.
Allie will be missed by his wife, Joyce Conaway; their children, Tonya (Jay) Hawley, Eugene (Michele) Conaway, Kevin (Meg McKenna) Conaway and Mark Conaway; grandchildren, Justin (Jessica) Conaway, Daasha (Jameson)Webster, Melissa (Mac) Cozart, Nicole Seals, Corey Hawley, Kevin (Alicia) Conaway, Ashley (Kody) Marcum, Andrea Conaway, and Shawna Lane; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Lamb; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his great-grandson, Jesse Conaway; sisters, Jean Flinn, Marie Lamb, and Anne Moore; brothers, Paul, Phillip, Bernard, Newton and Raymond Conaway; and his parents.
