Antonia "Tonie" Mary Hooper's Obituary
Age 101, passed away Monday March 21, 2022 at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility. She was born in Silvis, Illinois on Sunday, September 19, 1920 to the late Severo and Lorenza (Arriola) Perez. Tonie is survived by her daughter; Lilia (Stephen King) Lonier, grandchildren; Karl (Kim Nash) and Amy Lynn (Scott Taylor) Hooper, three great-grandchildren; Kohlton Nash, Zackary Taylor and Madisen Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husbands; Manuel R. Chavez and Finis E. Hooper, her son; Dexter Hooper and grandson; Darold 'Michael' Nash. She was a grand lady with deep spiritual beliefs. She graduated from the Jackson Business University. She had a very great wealth of knowledge and compassion for others, offering sage advice and tender compassion to any who were in need. Services will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 1 pm with Father Tim Nelson - St. Mary Star of the Sea officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 am until service time. She will be interred next to her late husband, Finis Hooper at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Contributions in her memory are directed to the Jackson County Medical Care Facility Patient Activity Fund. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Medical Care Facility and also Elara Hospice for their compassionate care.
