Arthur "Art" Seltmann's Obituary
Seltmann, Arthur "Art" Brooklyn, MichiganHis Legacy... Arthur Richard Seltmann, Age 81, passed away September 8, 2019. He was born on December 24, 1937, in Jackson, Michigan to Paul Oscar and Philomena (Hillenbrandt) Seltmann. He married the love of his life Eraina "Irene" Schumm. Art served honorably in the U. S. Navy from 1959 to 1965 as a Chief Petty Officer. He was a 1963 graduate of Michigan State University and taught engineering at Jackson Community College. Art was a tool and die design engineer making auto parts for many years. He was very meticulous to every detail and took pride in his work where nothing was overlooked. Art knew that love was in the details. He was fondly known to his beloved grandchildren as "Opa" and will be missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.His Family... Art will be missed by his beloved wife of 43 years, Irene; his son Steven (Mary) Seltmann, stepsons Jeff Maples and Chris (Kathy) Maples, step-daughter Heidi (Sandy) Sulivan, seven grandchildren Shiloh (Luke Schmerberg) Maples, Cheyanne Maples, Scott (Kathleen) Maples, Erin Maples, Jamie (Sarah) Sabin, Julia Seltmann and April Seltmann, eight great-grandchildren Gabby, Parker, Addison, Baliegh, Drew, Jacob, Meia, Mikala and sister Linda Ferguson. He is preceded in death by his parents. His Farewell... Art's family and friends will gather Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel in Brooklyn where his Farewell will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Deacon Chris Vida will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for future designation.
