Arthur Ray Worden's Obituary
Age 96, of Michigan Center, passed away March 1, 2017 at the VA Medical Center-Ann Arbor. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Thelma L. (Chalfant) Worden, two children, Karen Varney, Donald (Barbara) Worden; daughter-in-law Debbie (Worden) Johnson, seven grandchildren, Maria (Matt) Miller, Taria (Dave) Fleming, Sarah (Juan) Rivera, Sonja (Marty) Varney-Herr, Jamison Winters, Steven (Samantha) Worden and Bryan (Shay) Worden, thirteen great-grandchildren, sister, Alberta Bronson, many brother and sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Worden II, brothers, Victor and Fred Worden, parents, Frederick and Helen (Gusenbar) Worden, and brother-in-law Donald Bronson. He was a long time photographer for Worden Printing, retired from Sparton Corporation, served the nation in the US Army in World War II, ETO, belonged to the Center Three Horse Club since 1956, was an avid U of M Sports Fan and enjoyed fishing, golf, and loved the great outdoors. Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Father Tim MacDonald officiating. His cremated remains will be interred with full military honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery. The Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team will provide the honors at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory are directed to the Jackson County Veterans Office Van Fund.
