Barbara Ann Abernethy's Obituary
Age 69, of Vandercook Lake, passed away October 2, 2022 under the loving care of her family and the staff at the Henry Ford Hospice Home. Barb was born November 26, 1952, the daughter of Richard D. and Martha L. (Ward) Abernethy.
When her children were young, she worked many years at Kmart; although her main job and most rewarding was that of being a homemaker and mother to her sons.
Barb is survived by her best friend and companion, Rick Canine; two sons, Mark (Kerry) Chaffin and Michael Chaffin; Rick's daughter, Randi Bellows; two sisters, Carol Eadie and Jane Winright and nine beloved grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Martha and Max Pierce; father, Richard Abernethy; and sister, Linda Flintoff.
Barb loved family parties and gatherings; especially time with her grandkids. She enjoyed doing crafts and working in her flower gardens.
Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time. For those who wish, contributions in Barb's memory to Henry Ford Hospice Home, 2150 Kingsbrooke Drive, Jackson, MI 49202 would be appreciated.
