Barbara Lou Blair's Obituary
BLAIR, BARBARA LOU Age 79, of Napoleon Township, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at Allegiance Health. She was born September 23, 1934 at Ackerson Lake to the late Arthur and Marion (Martin) Herzberg; also preceded in death by her brother, Chuck Herzberg. Barb is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Ronald; three children, Theresa (Harvey) Ambs of Napoleon Twp., Pamela (Michael) Soltis of Michigan Center and Douglas (Karen) Blair of Napoleon Twp.; eight grandchildren, Scott (Kim) DuBois, Doug (Sarah) DuBois, Jenny (Brett) Straub, Matt (Sarah) Soltis, Joanna Soltis, Emily (Bill) Lewis, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Blair and Steven Blair; 12 great-grandchildren, Aleechia, Morgan, Makenzie, Kaden, Alexyn, Grant, Maci, Alex, Caleb, Kasey, Cooper and Easton; siblings, Elizabeth Carpenter, Bonnie (Bob) Craft and Robert (Jackie) Herzberg; in-laws, Mary Louise Blair and Darlene Sanders; special friends, Bob and Sid Copeland and Pat Lamb; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Barb's greatest love in life was her family, enjoying her role as wife, mom and grandmother more than anything. Over the years, she worked at The Jackson Citizen Patriot, The Toy House, Napoleon Community Schools, the Jackson County Medical Care Facility and Election Worker at Ackerson Lake Precinct 2. She was a member of the Golden Wedding Club, the Napoleon Lions Community Band and St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church where a Funeral Mass to Celebrate her life will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 10:30 am with Father Tim Nelson officiating. Interment Roseland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm. For those who wish, contributions in Barb's memory may be given to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
