Barbara Jean Nelson's Obituary
Age 80, of Jackson, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at Victorian Villa Assisted Living. Barbara is survived by her two daughters, Wanda (Don) Freeze and Connie (Buddy) Strine; six grandchildren, Michelle (Andy) Barber, Jennifer (Ryan) Plank, Jeff and Alan Terrell, Shelby and Kourtnie Strine; five great-grandsons, Mason and Colt Barber, Ryan Jr. and Luke Plank; Kade Terrell; great-granddaughter, Rylie Lamb; brother, David Shay and two sisters, Kathy (Carmen) Saucedo and Mary Ann (Phil) Lusty.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Nelson in 2019; daughter, Kelly in 2003; father, Kenneth Shay and mother, Irene Grzesikowski.
Barbara retired from Meijer, working many years as a cashier. Her greatest joy in life was devoting her time to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed crocheting blankets and Barbie clothes, baking, cooking and hosting all holiday family gatherings.
Cremation has taken place and a private burial service will take place at Maxon Cemetery in Leoni Township.
