Barbara Ann Niles' Obituary
Age 85, of Grass Lake, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 under the loving care of her family and Residential Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Lloyd in 2019; son, Glenn Niles; parents, Ken and Harriett Hogoboom and brother and sister-in-law, Ken (Jean) Hogoboom. Barbara is survived by her children, Greg (Chris) Niles and Sharon (David) Leathead; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Jamie), Amber (Danny), Kennedy, Kelly and Christopher; twelve great-grandchildren and her brother and sister-in-law, George (Shirley) Hogoboom.
Barbara was a 1954 graduate of Michigan Center High School and was a longtime seamstress with Custom Drapery Shop in Brooklyn and a lifetime homemaker, both occupations that she truly enjoyed. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and knitting. In years past, Barbara had been a member of the Moose Lodge, was Den Leader and Den Mother with the Boy Scouts, Treasurer of the Grass Lake Band Boosters and the Grass Lake United Methodist Church.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to honor Barbara's life will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 1:30 pm with Reverend Larry Rubingh officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services. For those who wish, contributions in Barbara's memory to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life would be appreciated.
