Barbara Jean Wyatt's Obituary
Age 81, of Blackman Township, passed away at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Barbara was born in Jackson, Michigan on Friday, June 27, 1941 to the late Ivan C. Smith and Alberta (Tingley) Borkowski.
She is survived by five daughters, Jody (Joe Rodriguez) Cram, Berlynda Rupert, Kim (Troy) Hoffmann, Shirley (Jim) Campbell and Dee (Robert) Brewer; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; special cousin, Larry Drew and other extended family.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Clarence L. Wyatt in 2015; her sons-in-law, Jimmy Cram and Sam Rupert and great-grandson, James Reams.
Barb retired as a secretary in the Control Tower at Ann Arbor Municipal Airport and had for many years worked as a nurse's aide at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility and Marlin Manor, and also as an advisor for the Parent Aid Group. She was a gifted artisan enjoying needlepoint, crocheting and sewing. Barb enjoyed reading, bowling, watching figure skating on television, avid collector of angel figurines and was a devoted fan of the music of Elvis Presley.
Barb's family would like to give extra thanks to her grandson, Justin VanVleet and son-in-law, Robert Brewer for the many years of loving care given to Barb.
Services will be held at Rivertree Community Church, 3113 Lansing Ave, Jackson, MI 49202 on Friday, September 9, 2022 at noon with Pastor Andy Merritt officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm. Contributions in her memory are directed to the National Kidney Foundation. Barbara's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Henry Ford Hospice staff.
