Benny Artie Daniels' Obituary
Benny Artie Daniels, affectionately known as Bubba, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Wanda (Senakiewich) Daniels, and his beloved son, Jeffrey Daniels. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 63 years, Virginia (Klaput) Daniels; his daughter, Julia (John) Jeffreys; his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Daniels; and his cherished grandchildren: Rebecca Daniels, Hunter (Sydney) Jeffreys, and Nick Jeffreys.
Benny was born on October 27, 1939, in Belmont County, Ohio, on his grandparents Peter & Agnes’s farm. The son of a coal miner, Benny left home at 18 in search of better work, leading him to Detroit where he worked delivering caskets. He married the love of his life, Virginia Klaput, on December 30, 1961, in Wyandotte, Michigan. Drafted into the U.S. Army in 1963, Benny and Virginia spent part of his service living in Italy. Upon returning to Michigan, they adopted their beloved children, Jeffrey and Julia.
Benny spent 43 dedicated years at Dana Corporation as a maintenance supervisor, where he played a key role in the production of PTO components. Known for his strong work ethic, he often worked seven-day weeks to support his family. His natural mechanical inclination and “Yankee ingenuity” meant he could fix just about anything. His commitment to precision at work carried over into his personal life, where he took meticulous care of his tools and equipment.
During retirement, Benny kept busy tending to the tree farm that he and Virginia started. Together they managed 6 acres of Spruces, Pines, and his favorite - Concolor Firs. The trees that Benny cared for ended up all over the country as landscaping - something he was very proud of.
Benny found joy in his family, gardens, swimming pool, and his John Deere tractor. A proud family man through and through, he remained active and deeply engaged with those he loved until the very end.
You are welcome to join the family for a Celebration of Life ceremony on August 7, 2025 at 1PM with a reception to follow at Gene Davis Banquet Hall (3575 Frances Street in Jackson).
