Betty Jane Daugherty's Obituary
Betty Jane (Hann) Daugherty, 84, passed away on October 11, 2024. Betty’s family and friends will gather on Friday, October 25th. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with a memorial service led by Rev. Karen Kelley at 11:00 AM at Eineder Funeral Home, 820 5th Street, Michigan Center, MI. Interment will follow the service at Leoni Cemetery located at 184 Portage Road, Jackson, MI. A luncheon will follow.
Betty was born on August 11, 1940, in Pinewald, NJ to Orville and Gwyneth Hann. On October 14, 1961, she married Charles (Chuck) Daugherty in Toms River, NJ. They spent much of their time together enjoying family, friends and traveling until his passing in 2007. Betty was proud of being a registered nurse (RN) for many years in nursing home and hospital settings including Foote Memorial Hospital (Henry Ford Allegiance Health). She enjoyed watching soap operas, helping others, crafting, cooking, completing jigsaw puzzles and was a sports enthusiast. Frequently, she would make food items to share with family and colleagues.
Betty will be greatly missed by her children: Paula (Jeff) Gates, Heather (Lisa Furman) Jacobs, and Cheryl Daugherty along with her grandchildren: Sabrena (Ricardo Spicer) Gates, Jeremy Gates, Christy (Chris) Sechler, and Nathan (Peri) Jacobs. Great-grandchildren include: Mia and Niko Spicer and Camden and Caroline Sechler.
