Betty Sue Slack's Obituary
Betty Sue Slack, 75, from Jackson, MI, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital. Betty’s family and friends will gather at a later date.
She was born on August 2, 1949, in Niles, Michigan, to James and Sylvia (Henderson) Shanes. Betty married, Clair “Jigg” Slack, in Jackson, MI. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1967. In 1990, Betty sadly lost her husband and became widowed. She worked for over 10 years at Jackson Photo Center, where she sold cameras and equipment. Betty loved taking photos, going to garage sales and most of all, spending time with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, especially going to sporting events to watch them play. In her younger years, Betty and her husband enjoyed bowling, where they were part of a league. She loved helping others. If there was someone in need, Betty was there. She was always thinking of others and if she could, she would have been in multiple places at once, so she could help more people. Betty will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Betty will be missed by her children, Randy (Lisa) Kirkland, Tim (Linda) Kirkland, and Jerry (Samantha) Slack; siblings, Carol Ray and Jerry (Kathy) Shanes; grandchildren Brett Kirkland, Kaylee (Zach) Austin, Austin Kirkland, Torin Pollock, Abi (Jarrod) Stewart, Alexis Slack, and Andrew Slack; great grandchildren Aubree, Brooks and Weston; her special friend, John French; and numerous close family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings, Barb, Shirley, Jimmy, Bobby and Mickey; her great grandchild, Cameron; and her special friend, Russ Blair.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family for future designation. Please leave a message of comfort for Betty’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
