Betty Smith's Obituary
Age 91, of Leoni Township, passed away at her home Monday, May 3, 2021 under the loving care of her family and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. She is survived by seven children, Trudy Lynn (Earl) Gordon, Joanne Marie (Jerry) Jeziorski, Patricia Ann Smith, Byron Alan Smith, Carol Noreen Haney, Lorena Mae Ostrom and Martin Vaughn (Shelly) Smith; sixteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Martin in 2019; grandson, Mark Smith; siblings, Vernon, Muriel, Patricia and Carolyn; and her parents, James and Mabel (Gwynn) Smith. Betty worked hand-in-hand with her husband as owner and operator of Smith's Poultry Farm for many years. For many years, she worked as night shift ward manager at Cedar Knoll Rest Home. Betty was Past President of the Munith American Legion Post #526 Auxiliary. Private family services will be held at the funeral home Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11 am. Interment will take place at Leoni Cemetery. Public visitation with Covid restrictions and masking requirements will be held Friday afternoon from 4 to 6 pm.
