Brenda Anne Sellers' Obituary
Brenda Anne Sellers, 75, from Jackson, MI, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025, surrounded by her family. Brenda’s family and friends will gather for visitation from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church: 913 Napoleon Rd., Michigan Center, MI. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Amal as celebrant. Burial will take place immediately after Mass at Roseland Memorial Gardens: 3744 Brooklyn Rd., Jackson, MI.
Brenda was born on October 8, 1949, in Jackson, Michigan, to Richard and Elaine (Higgins) Jennings. Brenda attended Catholic school and graduated from St. John’s in Jackson in 1967. She then met and married the love of her life, David Paul Sellers, at Our Lady of Fatima on April 14, 1973. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary this year. Brenda worked as a legal secretary her entire career, first starting at Kelly, Kelly, and Kelly in Jackson, MI, then at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas in Plano, TX, and finally at Consumer’s Energy, where she retired in 2010. Brenda was a wonderful mother to her daughters and their spouses, Jennifer (Shawn) and Laura (Tom). Growing up, she encouraged the extracurriculars that her daughters loved, like dance and various sports. Brenda had two wonderful grandchildren, Cassidy and Logan Shier, who she was able to spend lots of time with and enjoyed watching their various activities, such as dance, choir and hockey. She loved going antiquing with Dave and they loved the fair in the summertime, where they would often display some of their pottery that they collected. Brenda had many favorite memories, from vacationing in Florida and Texas to camping with friends and family. She was longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Brenda will be missed by her children, Jennifer (Shawn) Shier and Laura (Thomas) Towe; grandchildren, Cassidy and Logan Shier; her brother, Russell (Sue) Jennings; brother-in-law, Elwin Jordan; sister-in-law, Linda (JC) Boland; cousins, Connie Winters, Theresa Ramus, Jeanette (Chuck) Sorrick, Jay (Sigrid) Higgins; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Elaine Jennings; her beloved husband of 52 years, David; her father and mother-in-law, Frank and Mae Sellers; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Dennis and Barbara Sellers, Larry and Elinor Sellers and Joan Jordan.
