Bruce H. Nyeholt's Obituary
Age 63, of Marshall, Michigan, formerly of Lansing, passed away as the result of a traffic accident in Washtenaw County March 11, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Rose M. Nyeholt, son, Collin (Shawna) Nyeholt, step-son, Brandon (Sierra Pietroytis) Morris, grandchildren, Calvin and Archer Nyeholt, Nevaeh Morris, Jayce Thurman and Braylin Fowler, siblings, Kathleen (Ed) Davis, Judith Buyak-Dargis and William (Sandy) Buyak. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lillian (Hildebrandt) Nyeholt. He was a business owner, philanthropist, mentor, leader and above all else, a loving family man. Bruce had the spiritual gift of giving. He had a true servant's heart and was happiest when giving or doing for others. A true 'man's man' he had a vibrant smile, a boisterous laugh and a charm that made instant friends of everyone he met. In business, he was hardworking, honest to a fault, and always willing to take less for himself rather than treat someone else unfairly. But, at the end of the day, he was never too tired or busy to play with his grandchildren or help his sons with a project. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed, by all of the many, many lives he touched. Anyone that knows Bruce would understand the importance of his four legged canines, Eli, Hunter and Hannah, who went to work with him every day. Bruce had 45 years in the structural steel industry. He worked with his father at Capital Steel, and then began his own business, Nyeholt Steel, Holt Custom and Iron and the last fourteen years with Romo Enterprises, LLC along with his wife Rose. He was a life member, past president, past political liaison representative and holder of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Greater Lansing Homebuilders Association, long time member of the Lansing Downtown Coaches Club (supporting MSU Football) and was involved with the Food Pantry, Prayer and Children's Ministry and was a member of Freeway Church, 28900 B Drive North, Albion, Michigan, where a Memorial Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 1 pm with Pastor Steve Meszaros officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service time. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Lansing Habitat for Humanity, 1941 Benjamin Drive, Lansing MI 48906 or the Cascades Humane Society, 1515 Carmen Drive, Jackson, MI 49202.
