Burdene June Hynes' Obituary
Age 89, of Lexington, KY formerly of Jackson, passed peacefully at home on Saturday, September 19, 2020 under the loving care of her family and hospice. She was born at Charlotte, MI to George H. and Helen L. (Wyble) Osman and they preceded her in death as did her daughter, Deborah Hynes Barton and sister, Betty Pickering. Burdene is survived by her beloved family; son, Michael (Kim) Hynes of Lexington; son-in-law, Dale Barton of Danville, VA; grandchildren, Daleen (Nat) Lewis, DeAnna (Todd) Cornell, Jennifer (Brent) Day and Amy Hynes; great-grandchildren, Kaden Lewis, Kamden Lewis, Kennen Lewis, Kimoni Fitz, Andyn Cornell, Zander Cornell and Caleb Fields; great-great-granddaughter, McKinley Lewis. She was a retiree of Sparton Corporation. Burdene enjoyed gardening and to crochet; but her greatest joy was spending time with family and her many dear friends. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Burdene battled metastatic breast cancer for 11 years under the care of staff at Henry Ford Allegiance Health where she and her best friend Pat became known as Thelma and Louise. Her family would like to thank the caring doctors and nurses who treated her there. In more recent times, her family, with special care from Kim and Dale, gave Burdene the comfort and love she needed and deserved. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, contributions in Burdene's memory to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
