Calvin A Hammond's Obituary
Age 77, of Leoni Township, passed away at his home July 10, 2015 under the loving care of his family and Great Lakes Hospice. He is survived by his wife of 54 years; Genevieve, three children; Belinda 'Bo' (Eric) Anderson, Pete (Christina) Hammond and Carol (Michael) Chase, ten grandchildren; Jennifer, Christopher, Amanda, Kathryn, Kayla, Stephen, Jonathan, Alicia, Seanda and Sean, ten great-grandchildren; Bryce, Chase, Gavin, Alyssa, Chloee, April, Hannah, Baylen, Sean and Jeremiah, six siblings; Jesse (Reba) Hammond, Norman(Linda) Hammond, Alice (Bobby) Creech, Charlie (Myrtle) Hammond, Helen Davis and Edna Lane, special friends; Emma Farmer, Mike and Robin Alexander, Austin and Betty Duke, Dempsey and Harlene Alexander, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter; Pamela Linden, grandson; Jeremy Hammond, siblings; Martha Bullard, Janie McCumbee and John Hammond, nephew; Eddie Hammond, parents; Lon and Edna (maiden-Rooks) Hammond and good friend Jack Farmer. Calvin served the nation in the US Army, had worked at Jackson Drop Forge and Clark Equipment, attended the Faith Baptist Chapel, enjoyed hunting with his bird dogs, the great outdoors and was an accomplished woodworker. Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 11 am with Pastor Jim Wiech officiating. Interment Fifield Cemetery, Blackman Township. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 5-8 pm. Graveside Military Honors will be given by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Faith Baptist Chapel.
