Carol Jeanne Ankney's Obituary
Carol Jeanne Ankney, 93, of Cement City, MI, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility. Carol’s family and friends will gather from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 6, 2025, and from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel. Her funeral service will follow visitation at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Bart Hall will officiate. Interment will take place immediately after services at Highland Cemetery in Brooklyn, MI.
She was born on September 20, 1932, in Dewitt Township, MI, to Walter and Margarite (Waters) Johnson. Carol married Dale Orrin Ankney, on April 7, 1951 in Mason, MI. She spent 37 years as a Janitor for the 1st Baptist Church in Brooklyn, MI, where she was also a member. Carol enjoyed baking and sewing. She would sew clothing for her family for every day use and for special events. Carol will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Carol will be missed by her daughters, Evelyn Rickel, Valerie Derr and Patricia (Larry) Hill; her sister, Etta Mae Smith; her grandchildren, Jessica, Amy, Anhelica, Jason, Christopher and Courtney; her 21 great grandchildren; her special niece, Georgia; and many extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Margarite; her husband, Dale Ankney; her siblings, Charles, Walter, Minnie, Emma, Ester, Reva, Martha, Thornton, Virginia, Adeline, Ernest and Joanna; her sons-in-law, Randy Rickel and Stafford Derr; and her grandchildren, Heather Derr and Joshua Rickel.
