Carol Jean Rock's Obituary
Carol Jean Rock, age 86, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, May 19, 2023. Carol’s family and friends will gather Friday, June 2, 2023, at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel for visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Her funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. Deacon Todd Dahlberg of St. Rita Catholic Church will lead the service.
Carol was born on August 24, 1936, in Marquette, Michigan to Lloyd and Margaret “Aileen” (Stickney) Vashaw. Carol married the love of her life, Andrew “Andy” Cullen and spent 33 years together, calling him “Cullie”. She will be remembered as one who loved to party with her family and friends. Carol was quick to make friends and sought to have fun no matter what she was doing. From the first Indy 500 her daughters dragged her to, Carol became an avid race fan. She regularly attended Indy car races at Michigan International Speedway and followed the race schedule closely. She was tenacious, clearing a plot of woods herself to build her dream home in the country, as it reminded her of her beloved Marquette. It was there, in Jerome, she lived her final 23 years enjoying the outdoors, wildlife, and nature.
Carol will be missed by her daughters; Vickie (Craig) Simonds and Bonnie Provo, Kelly (Tim) Crumley, Beth Rodriguez; brother, Bob (Dorothy) Vashaw, grandchildren, Cory Simonds, Angela Simonds, Chris Rodriquez, April Graham and Amber Perrot; great-grandchildren, Annabelle, AJ, Mikey, Carter, and Titan, along with many nieces and nephews. Carol is preceded in death by her beloved Andy and her parents.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Vincent DePaul of Jackson, Michigan or The Jackson County Animal Shelter, or memorial contributions may be given to family for future designation. Please leave a message of comfort for Carol’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
