Carol Irene Young's Obituary
Age 93, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility under the loving care of her family, the staff of the Jackson County Medical Care Facility and Great Lakes Caring Hospice. Carol was born February 19, 1923 in Tupper Lake, New York, one of twelve children of Leland and Bernice Huntington. She moved to Detroit at age 18, where she met her husband, William Young. They raised their four children in Royal Oak. Carol later moved to Livonia and worked at Garden City Hospital as a Nurse's Aide until her retirement. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Sheena) Young and Ronald (Beverly) Young; daughter, Rebecca (Tom) Hetu; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters; several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, William; daughter, Pamela; eight brothers and sisters. The family wants to give special thanks to the staff at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility for their love and support given to their mother during her stay there.
