Charles D. Derr's Obituary
Age 85, of Jackson, passed away at Highland Home July 8, 2015. He is survived by two sons, Kendall (Tamara) Derr and Keith Derr; sister, Shirley Hines; six stepchildren, Linda (Mike) Hudson, Judy Currier, Bill (Julie) Myers, Sally (Dave) Wright, Cherie (Phil) Fisher and Gloria (Joel) Castiglone, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two wives, Iva Mae and Betty Jean Derr. Charles served the nation in the USMC during the Korean War, had worked as a police officer for the City of Jackson, he then retired as a Corrections Officer from the State Prison System. He belonged to the Brookside United Methodist Church. Services will be held at the funeral home Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11 am with Pastor Ron Brooks officiating. Interment Maxon Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening 6 to 8 pm. Graveside military honors will be offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team.
