Charles Christopher Hendrick's Obituary
Hendrick, Charles Christopher, age 97, of Jackson, passed away August 8, 2014. He is survived by three siblings, Dolores J. Arthur, Ival W. Hendrick, Frank (Marian) May, his grandson, Audie Vass and step-daughter, Frances (James) Peckham, two step-grandchildren, Kim Nystrom-Sparkman and Mark Nystrom and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Betty, daughter Sharon Vass, three brothers, Rollin, Gordon and Howard, and his parents, Ival C. and Hazel B. (maiden-Christopher) Hendrick. Chuck graduated from Jackson High School in 1934. He and all his brothers served the nation in World War II. Chuck was in the Army in North Africa (ETO). He worked 35 for the City of Jackson Water Department retiring in 1981 as Chief Water Treatment Plant Operator. In retirement, Chuck and Betty moved to Florida where he worked for the Great American Boat Yard for 20 years. They moved back to Michigan in 2009. Mr. Hendrick has been cremated and private family services will be held.
