Charles H. 'Unca Charlie' Lawrence's Obituary
Age 69, of Leoni Township, passed away at his home March 22, 2015. He is survived by his son, David C. Lawrence, two granddaughters, Taylor and Shelby Miles, sister Elane (Robert) Scheungrab, dear friend, Sue Pangborn, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert C. and Florence H. (maiden-Buskirk) Lawrence, brothers, Roland and Richard Lawrence, two sisters, Marilee Paige and Shirley Taylor. Charles graduated from East Jackson High School with the class of 1964, served the nation in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, retired from Goodyear and the Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer, was a member of the National Rifle Association and an avid fan and rider of his beloved Harley. He also was a nature and history buff. Mr. Lawrence has been cremated. A Celebration honoring his life will be held Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Hard Knock Grill (3705 Ann Arbor Road) from 2-8 pm. He will be interred with Full Military Honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery , Augusta , Michigan at a later date. Memorial Contributions to any cause that furthers the well-being of the members of our Nation's Armed Forces and Veterans would be appreciated.
