Charles Grant Minix Sr.'s Obituary
Age 85, longtime resident of Michigan Center, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Countryside Care Rehabilitation Center. He is survived by his son; Chuck G. (Lesley). Minix Jr., two granddaughters; Kristen (Matt Uhl) Minix and Carley Minix, two great-granddaughters; Baylee and Maycee Lewis, niece; Robin (Gary) Hodges, nephew; Ted (Connie) Minix, sister-in-law; Martha Minix, special cousins; Stella and Mike Prater, Laura and Jason Russell, Samantha and Charlie Schoenbachler. He was preceded in death by his wife; Joan L. (maiden-Clougher) Minix in 1990, his sister; Patty Brooks, brother; 'Happy' H. C. Minix and his parents; Branch and Phoebe (maiden-Salyer) Minix. Charlie served the nation for over 20 years retiring as a Technical Sgt. from the US Air Force, formerly owned and operated City Window Cleaning and Janitorial in the Jackson area. Charlie passed on the 40th anniversary of the day he and his son purchased House of Taco on Page Avenue. They have owned and operated the restaurant since 1979. He loved to fish, travel all over the world, golf and play euchre. He spent every winter in Key West, Florida for nearly 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Rose City Post #324. Mr. Minix has been cremated. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at the funeral home Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 3 pm with Mr. Mark Buckland officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 pm until service time. Veterans Honors will be given by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Contributions in his memory are directed to the American Legion Rose City Post #324.
