Charles Michael Neese's Obituary
Age 70, of Summit Township, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Connie; his mother, Betty Wing; two sisters, Ava Neese and Effie Horning, all of California; father-in-law, Jim Cavender; sisters-in-law, Margie (Jerry) Horsch and Cheryl Buchler; brothers-in-law, Mark Cavender, Chris (Nancy) Cavender; all of Michigan and Mickey (Susan) Cavender of Arizona; special aunt, Bonnie Ingertson of Iowa; many wonderful nieces and nephews in California and Michigan. Chuck and Connie also have a great circle of friends extending from Iowa to California and Michigan whose relationships were genuinely cherished. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester; sisters, Diana Torrice and Mary Lawrence; step-father, Robert Wing; mother-in-law, Marie Cavender and brother-in-law, Ron Buchler. Chuck was born in Webster City, Iowa, the son of Lester and Betty (Winter) Neese and he was raised in California. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam Era and just before being discharged, married the former Connie Lynn Buchler on January 11, 1969 at Brookside United Methodist Church in Jackson. Chuck earned his Electrical Engineering degree from Cal State - Sacramento and worked for many years in California before he and Connie moved to Michigan in 2000 when he then worked for Guardian Industries in Albion until retirement. In 1992 in Manteca, CA, he was appointed to and truly enjoyed his time on the Planning Commission where he left as Chairman in 2000. Chuck loved his family and served as family photographer; he enjoyed scuba diving, traveling, playing cards and cruising in his classic Olds 442 convertible. He was a member of the Summit Township Recreation Committee, the Jackson Eyeopeners Lions Club and the Brookside United Methodist Church, where a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ron Brooks officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Visitation will be held at Nichols-Arthur Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chuck's memory to Brookside UMC or the Jackson Eyeopeners Lions Club would be appreciated.
