Charles Raymond Parker's Obituary
Age 94, of Michigan Center, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health on Friday, February 4, 2022. He was born in Jackson, Michigan on Wednesday, July 13, 1927 to the late Charles E. and Viola L. (maiden-Prief) Parker. He is survived by his wife of 62 years; Marcia Lynne (maiden-Melling), four children; Laurie (Jeff) Chapman, Scott (MaryLou) Parker, Lisa (David) Shay and Julie (Dennis) Shay, eight grandchildren; Katelyn (Billy) Tenney, Colleen (Dave) Bard Erik (Ashley) Parker, Hayley (Alex Blissick) Parker, Kyle (Becca Kaiser) Parker, Erica (Joe) McMillin, Cody Shay and Hannah (Keegan) Harness, many great-grandchildren, several special nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Charlie served the nation in the US Navy for over seven years enlisting in the waning days of World War II. In civilian life he worked as a Master Electrician for over 32 years and belonged the IBEW Local 252 for 65 years. He was a longtime member of the Michigan Center Lions Club and was the last surviving Charter Member of the Michigan Center Three-Horse Club. He enjoyed any outdoor activity; fishing, hunting, camping and trapping. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his Life will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church (913 Napoleon Road, Michigan Center) on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 11 am with Father Satheesh Alphonse, SdC officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10 am until service time. The Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team will offer Military Honors. A luncheon to gather and reminisce will be held immediately after services at the Michigan Center Three-Horse Club (4793 Page Avenue, Michigan Center. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Michigan Center Lions or Fatima Parish.
