Charles Robert "Bob" Lancaster's Obituary
Age 91, of Leoni Township, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility. He was born March 6, 1930 in Benwood, West Virginia to Herman and Madie (Oliver) Lancaster. Bob spent his youth in West Virginia before joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 1951. In 1955, he married the former Shirley Ann Bean at a ceremony in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. After a few different employment situations, Bob went on to have a 30 year career with the Michigan Department of Transportation. He was a gifted mechanic and avid tinkerer who could fix just about anything.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Shirley; four children, Thomas (Nancy) Lancaster, Lisa Hart, Charles (Ellen) Lancaster, Jr. and Amy (Bruce) Melosh; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Joe Hart; and his siblings.
Cremation has taken place and no public services will be held.
