Charles Andrew Salyer's Obituary
Age 64, of Summit Township, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family and under the Hospice Care of Henry Ford Allegiance. Charles was born in Jackson, Michigan on Saturday December 14, 1957 to the late Floyd A. and Vivian M. (Dolson) Salyer. He is survived by his sisters; Kathie A. (Frank) Reason and Terri L. Hinton and his brother; Bryan A (Betsy) Salyer, many nieces, nephews and friends from all over. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by siblings; Floyd Dillon, Al Dillon, Duane Dillon and Dixie "Queenie" Roth. Charles proudly served the nation in the US Army from 1975 to 1978. For many years he was a steel worker and owned Moe Money Towing in Jackson. He was an avid patron of Harness Racing and was owner of "Scooter Hooter" who raced at the Jackson track. He was always a cowboy at heart. His other interests were golf, bowling and fishing and his passion was spending time with his family and friends. He was a Lord Filled man who will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team will offer Military Honors at 3:45 pm.
The Salyer family wishes to thank Cheryl and Joe Jaycox for their compassionate and much appreciated care giving these last months, also the staff at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. A Memorial Luncheon to Celebrate his life will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Jax Naz Church (2905 Clinton Road, Jackson, MI 49201) at 2 pm.
