Charles Phillip Spada's Obituary
Charles Phillip Spada, 89, of Brooklyn passed away on December 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. Phil’s family and friends will gather for a private service and military honors at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel.
Phil was born on March 13, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Edith (Coy) Spada. He graduated from Wayne High School in 1951 and married the love of his life, the late Helen Amick in 1956 in Wayne, Michigan. Phil was a proud member of the United States Air Force from 1952-1956. After his time in the service, Phil joined the National Guard. This led to his career in the Federal Aviation Administration where he worked until 1990. He will be remembered first and foremost as a man who would do anything for his family. He loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. Phil was fascinated with everything to do with aviation. He also enjoyed tinkering with all types of electronics. He was a true “Do it Yourself” man. In his later years, Phil took up a second career as a contractor with Parsons, before finally retiring completely in 2008.
Phil will be greatly missed by; his children, Sherri (the late Dennis) Finley, Mike (Lorri) Spada, Linda (Gerard) Golab, Robert (Mary) Spada, James (Kimberley) Spada; brother, David (Sharon) Spada; grandchildren, Shawna (Mark) Bakken, Sharla Fowler, Amanda Spada, Jason Spada, Lewis Golab, Tina Golab, Samuel Spada, and Katherine (Jonah) Stephens; great grandchildren, Savannah (Alex) Bakken, Tanner (Derica) Bakken, Dylan Dietzman and Colton Rosenow; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, a grandson Christopher Leader and two sisters: Virginia Lee and Judith Martin.
