Christine Ethel Honer's Obituary
Christine Ethel Honer, 81, from Manchester, MI, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. Christine’s family and friends will gather from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Eineder Funeral Homes - Manchester Chapel and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the Emanuel United Church of Christ: 324 W. Main St., Manchester, MI. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at the church. Rev. Dr. Gene Blair will officiate.
She was born on September 25, 1944, in Norwich, England, to William and Ethel (Stearman) Douglass. Christine married the love of her life, Herbert Honer, on December 22, 1962, in Norwich, England, while he was proudly serving in the United States Air Force. She graduated high school in England. Christine spent her career working as a librarian at the Manchester Middle School, where she worked for 30 plus years. She became a U.S. citizen in 1984, after working tirelessly on the process. Christine loved to read, knit and volunteering her time to help others. She loved making masks during the Covid-19 pandemic to make sure everyone had one. Christine enjoyed planning trips, especially bus trips, where she would have to contact multiple people and coordinate everything. She loved being around people and would make friends everywhere she went. Christine was a member of the Emanuel United Church of Christ and The American Legion Auxiliary, in Manchester, MI.
Christine will be missed by her husband of 62 years, Herbert Honer; her children, Laura Keiser, Julie Stewart and Tammie Honer; her siblings, Jacki, Stephen, George, Carol and Martyn; her 5 grandsons; her 5 great grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ethel; and 5 brothers and sisters.
