Christopher P. Simmons' Obituary
Age 58, of Clarklake, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Chris is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Susan (Stone) Simmons; children, Josiah Simmons of Chesterton, IN, Ian and Eli Simmons, both of Ann Arbor, MI and Tyler Case of Chicago, IL; his father, Phillip (Nancy) Simmons of The Villages, FL; sisters, Julie Simmons of Charlotte, NC and Laurie Simmons of San Francisco, CA; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marghi (Mahrle) Simmons in 1988. Chris was a 1978 graduate of Napoleon High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1982. While at Michigan, he played coronet in the Football Marching Band and bass in the Basketball Pep Band. His work led him to the William Davidson Institute, a job he dearly loved and he was currently employed with Alro Steel. Chris was a published author; had a lifelong love of music and he most enjoyed playing guitars with his children. A Time of Celebration to share hugs and stories of Chris will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home in Michigan Center on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, Chris would have appreciated donations in his memory to the Brooklyn Food Pantry, 171 Wamplers Lake Road, Brooklyn, MI 49230.
