Clara M. Huizenga's Obituary
Huizenga (Van Gorp), Clara M. Age 76, of Jackson, passed away at Allegiance Health July 26, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Marvin, three children, Ron (Patty) Huizenga, Mike (Shelle) Huizenga and Cheryl Kratze, three grandchildren, Tyler, Brooke and Jacob Huizenga, three siblings, Jacob (Bernice) Van Gorp, Dan (Grace) Van Gorp and Gerlene (Verne) Meyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dena (Kloosterman) Van Gorp and son-in-law, David Kratze. Clara treasured her fellowship with family and friends, was an avid gardener and worked as a teacher's aide in Adult Education, specializing in English as a Second Language Classes, for many years. She was a devoted member of the Cascades Fellowship Christian Reformed Church (2390 W. High Street, Jackson, MI 49203) where she served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Chair of the Fellowship Committee, VBS coordinator and representative to Love in the Name of Christ. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at the church Saturday, September 6, 2014 at noon with Pastor Chris Lanham officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service time. Contributions in her memory are directed to her church.
