I am so very sorry to learn of the loss of Dale. He was one of my favorite friends and my high school memories are full of him. Such a playful and kind friend to fellow students, teachers and all. The roar of the packed bleachers for record breaking basketball at NHS remains unforgettable! No lamb chop sideburns have ever been better than his in 1980.

One of my favorite memories is 'doing donuts' (emergency brake) in his Mustang at the icy intersection of Wolf Lake Rd. and Sharon Valley and singing with Pink Floyd at top of our lungs.

May God be with Dale's dear family and may he rest in peace.

Dale is in so many of my memories from childhood--and all of them are wonderful. I remember him trying (unsuccessfully, but very patiently) to teach me to hit a softball in Gyneth's front yard. Then there was the time at Amanda's birthday party at the house on Wolf Lake Road when I brought her a squirt gun that looked like a calculator. I was holding it and he asked if he could see it, so I gave it to him. He proceeded to squirt me and the rest of the kids there. Another time he was reffing one of my sister's basketball games and I caught a ball that had gone out of bounds. He ran over to me, said, "great job!" (by then I think we had all realized my lack of athletic ability and so the bar was *very* low for earning praise...) and gave me a Pillsbury doughboy poke on my belly. I felt so special in that moment. All of my memories of Dale are like that--full of fun or sports, but usually both.
