Daniel Monroe Bamm's Obituary
Daniel Monroe Bamm, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the Hospice Home of Jackson. He was born on July 12, 1957, to Dale and Roxy Bamm.
Dan grew up in Michigan Center, where he attended Michigan Center Schools and was a devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church alongside his family. He was the beloved middle brother of three boys and shared a close bond with his siblings and extended family, including many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dan graduated from Spring Arbor University and was active in sports throughout his youth. After high school, he developed a passion for boxing and proudly earned the title of Golden Gloves District Champion with the Three Horse Boxing Club of Michigan Center—an accomplishment he carried with great pride throughout his life.
A man with a deep love for music, Dan was a talented guitarist who found joy in playing and sharing music with others. He especially loved Slade, whose energy and spirit matched his own. One lyric that reflects his outlook on life comes from their song “Gudbuy T’Jane”: “Take it easy, take it slow,” a simple reminder of the way Dan moved through life—with authenticity, heart, and a free spirit.
Dan was also deeply rooted in his faith and carried it with him throughout his life. A passage he kept close was from Psalm 116: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants.” This verse reflects the strength of his belief and the peace he found in his faith.
Known for his kind heart and infectious personality, Dan made friends wherever he went. He was unapologetically himself, famously holding onto his long “hair band” look well beyond the 70s and 80s, a reflection of his individuality and spirit. He was also a passionate sports fan who loved cheering on the Michigan Wolverines football and Michigan Wolverines men's basketball, as well as the Detroit Tigers and the Green Bay Packers.
Dan most recently worked with the Jackson Public Schools transportation system, where he supported special education students. He truly loved the children he worked with and found great purpose in making a difference in their daily lives.
He is survived by his brother, Craig Bamm; his daughter, Danielle Hanchett; his son-in-law, Todd Hanchett; and his beloved grand pup, Zeus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Roxy Bamm, and his younger brother, Mark Bamm.
Above all, Dan was incredibly proud to be a father. He cherished his daughter, Danielle, and was her constant supporter—her number one fan in everything she did. Anyone who knew him as a dad knew how deeply proud he was, and how much joy and purpose he found in that role. His love, encouragement, and unwavering belief in her will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
Dan will be remembered for his generosity, his unwavering faith, his willingness to help anyone in need, and the simple kindness he showed every day. Whether it was lending a hand or holding the door open for a stranger, he made the world a better place in quiet, meaningful ways. His warmth and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
