Hello Michelle - I visited your father's Memorial hoping to meet you, very sorry you were unable to attend and hope you are feeling better. I wanted to let you know how much the community enjoyed your father's Halloween display. I am the most recent past village president. Your father contacted me and asked for my campaign signs when I ran for office. During his Halloween display he put one of them in the hands of one of the skeletons. After he had done it, he sent me a message apologizing for doing that without my permission. I thought it was great and told him so. I wanted you to know how polite and respectful your father was in all of our ommunications. I appreciated his support, sense of humor and the Halloween display -- a gift to our village.
Yesterday was the first time in my life I have been to the funeral home out of respect -- for someone I never met in person. Somehow, I think, if I had gone before he would have done the same.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Booth.

I am so sad to hear about this. I really never knew Dan personally, but I live around the corner in Colbrook Meadows. When I would go for runs, I would comment how nice his yard/landscaping looked while I passed by. Every time that I drove by and would see him working in his yard, I always honked the horn and he would wave hello. One hot summer day, I saw him having a beer in front of his garage. I stopped by the store and bought him a six pack of long necks and dropped it by his house on my way home; he was very appreciative and shook my hand in thanks. His Halloween decorations were TOP NOTCH! I'm sorry to hear that he has passed on and will miss exchanging waves while I drive by. Although I didn't know him personally, he will be missed. Rest in peace my friend!

Dan was our neighbor who became a good friend. Dan always had a smile and a funny quip to share. He was always willing to lend a hand when needed. I enjoyed our many chats over the fence about life, the weather or plans for the next Halloween display. Dan loved our dogs and enjoyed coming over to visit them and toss the ball. Thank you for the years of laughter, kindness and front row seat to the coolest Halloween displays ever, my friend. We will miss you very much.

I never met Dan, but I have enjoyed seeing his Halloween decorations year after year. His simple act of decorating his house and yard has brought joy to so many strangers including me. "Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen."
