Daniel John Kelso's Obituary
Daniel John Kelso, 74, of Jackson, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 12, 2022 at Jackson County Medical Care Facility. Dan’s family and friends will gather Friday, December 16, 2022 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel in Brooklyn, Michigan. His funeral service will follow visitation at 1:00 pm. The family will hold a private interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pastor Jeff Sheeks will serve as celebrant.
He was born on April 6, 1948, in Jackson, Michigan to Lyle and Ruth (Lammon) Kelso. Dan married, Rebecca Sharp, on June 17, 1983, in Jackson, Michigan. He will be remembered as a very generous person, lending a hand to all in need. Dan was a 1967 graduate of Jackson High School. After graduation he served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He also was a Leoni Township Volunteer Firefighter for 17 years. Dan was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 109. He was a man with great integrity. Dan enjoyed camping and tinkering in his garage. Above all he cherished his time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dan is survived by his wife of 39 years, Becky; his children, Kevin (Jennifer) Kelso, Kenneth (Heather) Kelso, Karlene (John) Johnson and Ryan Fogarty; a brother, Richard (Wendy) Kelso; ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Ronda Fogarty.
