Daniel Howard Verlin II's Obituary
Daniel Howard Verlin II, 68, passed away December 26, 2021. Dan's family and friends will gather on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel and on Friday, December 31, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 10516 Hayes Rd., Clarklake, MI. His Memorial Mass will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Tom Helfrich, O.S.F.S. will serve as celebrant.
Dan was born on March 27, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Daniel and Mildred (Karpenia) Verlin. Dan married the love of his life, Linda Yasenchak, on October 25, 1980, in Southfield, Michigan. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Dan was a founding member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 7945. He spent 29 years with the State of Michigan Department of Corrections, retiring as the Ordnance Unit Manager. After retirement from the state, he became a Realtor for Production Realty/Guardhouse Rentals. He was also an adjunct instructor for Jackson College. Dan loved camping, golfing, Detroit sports and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. He also volunteered his time as a youth sports coach.
Dan will be missed by his wife, Linda; his children, Daniel (Jennifer) Verlin III of Marquette, MI; Nicki Verlin of Cincinnati, OH and Kelly (Nick) Boyle of Swartz Creek, MI; siblings, Randy (Wendi) Verlin of Kalamazoo, MI; and Nancy Kandt of Chesterfield, MI; grandchildren Katelyn and Daniel Verlin IV; Natalie Boyle and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Timothy Verlin; and special brothers-in-law Steve Kandt, Don Yasenchak and Fred Gebhardt.
