Darlene F. Millis' Obituary
Age 79, of Jerome, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022. She was born on July 8, 1942 at Wyandotte, MI the daughter of Francis and Lucille (Wescott) Fisher.
Darlene is survived by two children, John (Kathi) Millis V and Carrie Parker; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Doug (Carol) Fisher; sister-in-law, Diane Fisher; many other family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband John in 2021; her parents; son-in-law, Chris Parker and brother, Darwin Fisher.
Before moving to Jerome from Wyandotte in 1983, Darlene worked in the Anesthesia Department at Wyandotte General Hospital for 12 years. She then did part-time work in the dietary department at Foote Hospital for many years before taking on the role of Morgue Manager at University Hospital in Ann Arbor for 12 years. For 27 years, Darlene worked with the Jackson County (and later, Hillsdale and Lenawee County as well) Medical Examiner's Office as a diener assisting with autopsies; a job she handled with pride, dignity and special care until her retirement in 2021.
Darlene enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren, trail riding on her property, fishing, going to the casino and spoiling her fur babies Darla and Toe-Bee.
Visitation for Darlene will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Saturday, February 19 2022 at noon with Rev. Larry Rubingh officiating. Interment will take place at Aldrich Cemetery, 7300 Waldron Road, Jerome, MI following the services.
