Darwin J Butcher's Obituary
BUTCHER, DARWIN J., 'Butch' Sr. Age 77, of Napoleon Township, passed away December 2, 2012 at his home under the loving care of his family and Allegiance Hospice. He was preceded in death by his son, Darwin Jr.; grandson, Trevor Davis; parents, Gwen Bierie and Marvin Butcher; sister, Sharon Nelson and two brothers, Dwight and Dewey. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Irene C.; daughter, Deanna (Dan) Woodard of Napoleon Township; son, Dennis (DaVette) Butcher of Utah; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Sherryll Vicory; four brothers, Duane (Mary Lou) Butcher, Doug (Mary) Butcher, Melvin (Mary Ellen) Cole and Harold VanAtter; sister-in-law, Dorothy Butcher; many nieces and nephews. Darwin retired after 35 years service from the State of Michigan Department of Transportation where he worked as a Senior Road Inspector; he then worked for 11 years with Washtenaw County. He was a Life Member of the Napoleon Masonic Lodge #301 F.&A.M. and was Past Worthy Patron of Napoleon Chapter #328 Order of the Eastern Star. Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jim Wiech officiating. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Napoleon. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, with a Masonic Memorial at 7:30 pm.
