David George, ""Gentle Ben"" Benn's Obituary
Benn, David George, ""Gentle Ben"" Age 68, of Leoni Township, passed away October 26, 2014 at his home under the loving care of his family and Allegiance Hospice. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda L., three children, Ginger (Aaron) Spradlin, Andrew (Nicole) Benn and Todd Duncan, seven grandchildren, Samantha and Mackenzie Sussex, Caden Spradlin, Andrea Benn, Ty, Katherine and Megan Duncan, one great-grandchild, Taylen Crum, sister, Cynthia (Larry) Bauer, brother, Douglas (Shirley) Benn, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. and Madeline (maiden-Pond) Benn. Mr. Benn graduated in 1964 from Parkside High School, retired with 42 years service from Kelsey-Hayes, served many years on the Kelsey-Hayes Credit Union Board, played Monday night Euchre at the Coolidge Masonic Temple for almost fifty years and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 5 pm with Rev. Richard Brooks, Allegiance Hospice Chaplain officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be held from 3 pm until service time. Contributions in his memory are directed to his family to help defray final expense.
