David Allen Charles' Obituary
Age 72, of Summit Township, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. David was born in Toledo, Ohio on Thursday, December 15, 1949 to the late Floyd A. and Betty (Burns) Charles.
He is survived by his two sons, David (Arlen) Charles Jr., Shawn (Brenda) Charles; five grandchildren, Caitlyn Charles, Taylor Charles, Mackenzie Charles, Ian Charles and Zachary James Charles; great-grandchild, Kenyon Owens; brother, Leslie Charles; sister, Diane McKenzie; many nephews and nieces.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Marie (Wright) in 2005 and granddaughter, Shelby Charles. David proudly served the nation in the US Army, 101st Airborne and was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Wyman-Gordon for many years before the plant closed then continued working for Tecumseh Products and Allegiance Health.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to honor his life will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home in Michigan Center on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 7:00 pm with Pastor Tom Burgett, Vandercook Missionary Church, officiating. Military Honors will be offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 6:00 pm.
