David "Dave" Andrew Katz's Obituary
David “Dave” Andrew Katz, 75, of Cement City, MI, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. A private family service will take place at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel, with Pastor Chad officiating.
Dave was born on February 14, 1950, in Saline, MI, to Arthur “Bud” and Elizabeth “Betty” (Campbell) Katz. He graduated from Saline High School. Dave married the love of his life, Marcia Anne Johnson, on August 7, 1992, in Adrian, MI. He attended the University of Michigan for journalism. Dave retired from CertainTeed Corporation after 17 years of dedication. He loved the outdoors, where he would camp, spend time on the lake, go boating and, in his younger years, go water skiing. Dave enjoyed being on his computer, where he would play solitaire and browse social media. He loved food; cooking, grilling, and he was an excellent chef. When he was younger, Dave received his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying. He also loved music. The most important part of all his hobbies, was doing them with his family. Dave was a dedicated family man, who loved spending as much time as possible with his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his great grandchild. He will be remembered as a generous, loving, great person, who will sorely be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dave will be missed by his wife, Marcia; his children, Kim (Steve) Johnson, Christy (Chris) Johnson, Buddy Johnson, Ali “Nova” (Rob) Seelinger, Mark (Syd) Katz, Justin Kudron, Troy (Cassie) Doney and Krys (Kat) Peterson; his siblings, Leslie (Kurt) Feret and Bill (Bonnie) Katz; his grandchildren, Bekka, Kaylee, Ella, Aaliyah, Phoenyx, Jaedyn, Noah and Robin; his great grandchild, Major; his aunt; Judy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Betty; his nephew, Steve Anthony; his cousin, Darlene; and other cherished family members.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family for future designation. Please leave a message of comfort for Dave’s family or sign his guestbook at https://www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
