David Lee Gerding's Obituary
Age 61, of Michigan Center, passed away at his home June 23, 2020 with his loving family at his side and under the care of Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. He is survived by two sisters; Carla Sue Mobley and Tonya (husband-Terry) Haynes, one niece; Rachel Haynes, his father; Robert Gerding, honorary step-father; Philip E. Doering, special friends; Laura (husband-Bob) Salow and David (wife-Tina) Nelson. He was preceded in death by his mother; Dinah Knoedler. David served the nation in the US Air Force. He was an avid fan of all sports and was a former hockey player (always the goalie). He was a graduate of Michigan Center High School Class of 1976 and a lifelong Cardinal Fan. He retired after a career with the US Postal Service. Services will be held at the funeral home Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11 am with Pastor Larry Rubingh officiating. Interment Roseland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening 6-8 pm. The family wishes to thank two special ladies from HFA Hospice; Lois and Angela for their compassion and caring nature. Contributions in his memory are directed to the HFA Hospice.
