David Stanley Savick's Obituary
Age 77, of Summit Township, passed away at his home February 11, 2020 under the care of his wife and with Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice in attendance. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years: Cecily Bianca (maiden-Simon) Savick, two daughters: Dawn McArthur (Dan Horsch) and Pamela (Michael) DeVaney-Macri, three stepchildren: Bryan (Jody) Becker, Alan Becker and Dania (Vivek) Sharma, eight grandchildren: Joshua (Katelyn) Faulk, Christin (Michael) Turner, Bethany (Jordan) Bishop, Thomas and Elijah McArthur, and Andrew, Jessica and Emily Becker, six great-grandchildren: Madison, Norah, Liam, Roman, Sawyer and Sydney, and one brother: Daniel (Barbara) Savick. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlene 'Peony' (Weaver) Savick, and his parents, Donald and Esther (Mitchell) Savick.
David always claimed to be a jack of all trades and master of none. He was a talented musician playing guitar on his treasured Fender Strat. He was a gifted structural steel technical engineer who did blueprints for everything from the Potter Center to sewage treatment plants and two of his own houses. As an entrepreneur, he served on the board of the Jackson Area Landlord's Association. He was an active member of the Democratic Party, the United Auto Workers, and the Teamsters Union. Mr. Savick has been cremated. His cremated remains will be interred next to his late wife, Charlene, at Hillcrest Memorial Park with an outdoor graveside service officiated by Reverend Jenn Gracen of the Universalist Unitarian Church of East Liberty. Services will be at Noon on Saturday, August 1, 2020 with current COVID-19 state mandated restrictions in place for attendees.
