David Paul Sellers' Obituary
David Paul Sellers, 75, from Jackson, MI, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. David’s family and friends will gather for visitation from 10:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 913 Napoleon Rd., Michigan Center, MI. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:30 with Fr. Tim MacDonald as celebrant. Burial will take place immediately after Mass at Roseland Memorial Gardens 3744 Brooklyn Rd. Jackson, MI., with Military Honors.
David was born on August 5, 1949 in Royal Oak, MI, to Frank and Mae (Bloemker) Sellers. David graduated from Napoleon High School in 1967. After high school, David proudly served as an officer in the U.S. Army from April 1969 to April 1971. Upon returning from Army, he met Brenda Jennings in the summer of 1971 and they married on April 14, 1973. David and Brenda celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary this year. After the military, David worked in the concrete/construction industry in both Michigan and Texas. He retired from Albanelli Cement Contractors in Livonia. David was a proud dad of his two daughters, Jennifer and Laura. Throughout their years growing up, he was supportive of all their extracurricular activities, even coaching Laura’s softball team. He enjoyed watching his granddaughter, Cassidy, sing and dance and enjoyed watching his grandson, Logan, play hockey. In his spare time, David enjoyed fishing and gardening. He loved fishing on Lake Columbia with family and friends. He loved watching all sports as he played sports all throughout high school. He and his wife, Brenda, loved antiquing, going to auctions, and going to county fairs. David loved to entertain people, often making homemade ice cream for everyone to enjoy. David was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where he and Brenda were married. He loved his family, friends and the community he lived in. He had a big heart and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.
David will be missed by his loving wife, Brenda Sellers; his daughters Jennifer (Shawn) Shier and Laura (Thomas) Towe; his grandkids, Cassidy Shier and Logan Shier; his sister, Linda (JC) Boland, brother, Larry Sellers, brother-in-law’s Elwin Jordan and Russell (Sue) Jennings; his close cousins, Bob Seller and Roger Arkabauer; many nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mae Sellers; his brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Barbara Sellers; his sister, Joan Jordan, and his sister-in-law, Elinor Sellers.
