Age 82, of Parma, Michigan passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. David was born Saturday, April 15, 1939 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Edward R. Southwell and Evelyn Belle (Grindall) Wendt. He is survived by his wife of 46 years; Carolyn Lee (Rose) Southwell, five children; Doug Southwell, Tammy Trowbridge (Scott), Raymond Swank Jr. (Joy), April Swank and Todd Swank (Keri), sister; Sue (Rod) Pederson, brother; Russ (Jeri) Southwell Jr., fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. David graduated from Western High School with the class of 1957. While in high school he excelled in Football and Basketball and held the record of most baskets in a game for many years. He served the nation in the US Navy from 1958 to 1962. He owned and operated Dave's Overhead Door Company for many years. Cremation has taken place. His cremated remains will be interred at Fort Custer National Cemetery with full military honors on Wednesday February 9, 2022 at 2 pm.
